Meet Jonas Linderoth

Jonas Linderoth is one of the founders of North Point Securities. Below you can read a short interview with Jonas about his experience in corporate finance and real estate and how he sees today's market and its future.

What does your background look like?

I have a degree in economics and started in the financial industry in 1997, then as a stockbroker. In 2000, I transferred to Corporate Finance at Aragon Fondkommission. After the merger with fund commissioner JP Nordiska, I started working at Kaupthing Bank. There, we mainly worked with capital acquisitions both on and off the stock exchange. For a period I was also stationed in London to work with capital acquisitions on a Nordic basis. In 2008, I decided to immerse myself in a specific industry and the choice then fell on real estate at Newsec Corporate Finance. The stay at Newsec was quite short because already in 2010 I was involved in starting a real estate development company called FastighetsCompagniet. We converted some properties into homes and it was on that path that I slipped into the hotel industry, which led to me becoming CEO of Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden for a few years. In 2015, I was also a co-founder of an investment company, ScandBond High Yield, which invests in corporate bonds. For almost three years now, my primary occupation is again Corporate Finance and more specifically capital acquisitions in growth companies.

What are your strengths as a financial advisor?

I have experienced both the ups and downs of the stock market and seen how quickly the investor climate can change. Over the years, I have also managed to build up a wide network, both among investors and possible issuers.

How do you complement the transaction team at North Point?

I primarily work with investor contacts and generating new clients on the issuer side

What is your ambition with North Point Securities?

Our ambition is to build a partner-owned investment bank that is positioned below the really big Swedish investment banks, such as Carnegie and ABG, measured in terms of transaction size. For me, it is also important to work with colleagues I enjoy, which is why personal chemistry will be important to me as we grow.

How do you see the future of both North Point and the market?

The capital market has cooled down significantly in recent months compared to the slightly fantastic market of recent years, when companies almost burst onto the stock market. I do not see the activity we have seen in recent years in the near future, but there are a number of interesting, listed and unlisted companies that need financing. It will place higher demands on us as advisors to find issuers that can also be attractive investment objects for our investors.
