Meet Lars Wahlström – Senior Advisor
Lars Wahlström is a Senior Advisor to North Point Securities. Below you can read a short interview with Lars about his career and how he will be able to contribute to North Point Securities.
What does your background look like?
My career started in packaging, then adult diapers and then, as if via a banana peel, it became software and communications. Was CEO of Kockumation, Transtema, Allgon Mobil and then ended up for four years at Ericsson Hewlett-Packard Telecommunications and almost nine years at Oracle where I was responsible for the telecom segment first in EMEA and then globally. Also finished with a few years of responsibility for all acquired applications in EMEA. After Oracle, I was CEO of a startup in cloud communication - Telepo (is the solution most operators offer as a small business exchange solution in the Nordics today). In addition to that, I have experience from several board assignments in both listed and unlisted companies and have worked a lot as an advisor to venture capital companies (mainly EQT) and startups.
What is your main occupation today?
Today I work as an industrial advisor to EQT and co-founder of HealthTech Lisboa, which is a Venture builder for start-ups in medical technology - the first of its kind in Portugal.
Please tell us more about your work with EQT?
My former colleagues that I introduced to EQT are active as advisors in cyber security, supply chain and more traditional software. That collaboration later developed into a combination of industrial advice and an investment collaboration within, for example, Iver and Parcel2Go, where North Point Securities led the advice on investor relations. These collaborations are unique and based on the advice not only results in benefits for EQT but also creates added value for investors interested in the segment.
How will your advice create value for North Point Securities?
With the industry experience I have, I can help discover what problems may arise and what challenges certain companies may face. I also want to contribute more investment opportunities like Iver and Parcel2Go through EQT for North Point Securities investors
How do you see the future of both North Point and the market?
The capital market has been strong for a long time and now a sharp decline came not entirely unexpectedly. This situation creates new opportunities for good investments that I hope we can jointly benefit from.
